Exquisite bobbin lace art work depicting house with road leading to it on black background with wooden frame.  Lace work is made from ancient Czech techniques and is a 35 year old local tradition of Sedlice.  Sedlice is where the famous Bobbin Lace School is located.  This particular piece of art is made by the shop owner, Helena Belohlavova, who is local to the area.  Measures approximately 17 x 13cm (7 x 5").

Helena operates her own little shop smack bang in the middle of a little town called Sedlice, in Czech Rep.  Her work is stunning with an exceptional attention to detail. Many of her creations depict the surrounding countryside of her much loved hometown.

Sedlice, Czech Republic

Sedlice is a tiny Czech town that we drove through when heading from Ceske Budejovice to Bamberg in Germany. As we drove into town we saw this little shop perched on the corner of a side street with lots of frames in the window. We pulled over for a closer inspection and soon realised that the shop specialised in local, handmade lace products which were made in or around Sedlice.
