Melbourne is our hometown and there is so much to love about it. We have the most fantastic restaurants and cafes, excellent shopping, great artist markets, a sports obsessed culture and a thriving arts scene.
I have so many favourite restaurants that it's hard to list them all but some of the highlights are Otsumami in High St, Northcote; Panama Dining Room in Smith St, Collingwood; Charcoal Grill on the Hill in High St, Kew; Veggie Bar in Brunswick St, Fitzroy and the list just goes on.... For brunch, we love Babka in Brunswick Street, The Green Grocer in St Georges Rd, North Fitzroy or APTE in Heidelberg Rd, Alphington.
Our favourite market is definitely Rose Street Artist Market in Fitzroy. There are so many stallholders each weekend selling an amazing array of handmade goodies, from jewellery and homewares to one-off fashions and artwork.
In Melbourne you can also head down to Victoria St for a bit of Vietnamese culture, to Lygon St for Italian, to Sydney Rd for Lebanese, Lonsdale St for Greek and Chinatown in the CBD. Or for a mix of everything why not try Brunswick St, Fitzroy; Acland St, St Kilda or High St, Northcote.
