For the past 50 years Odette Dijeux has been producing all types of ceramic pottery for the home.  It's not every day you stumble across an artist that has so much history to her name, and is so well known and well liked in her local and surrounding areas.

It's hard not to be swept away when you enter her beautiful studio, which is more like a gallery showcasing her works.  She has such a wonderful choice of stunning handmade ceramic pieces, all of which Odette is only to happy to chat about.  Located in the lovely town of Namur it is highly worth a visit.

Mirjana Durovic lives and has a studio in a little village just inland from Umag, Croatia. She draws inspiration from the pristine country side, ocean and beauty that possesses the land around her. 

Specialising in handmade ceramic homewares, her works are beautifully crafted, hand painted and finished in a range of colours and finishes. Some of her products include serving plates, wall hangings and bowls. Mirjana speaks several different languages including Croatian and Italian, making her a highly creative and interesting woman to spend some time with.

Your hometown and favourite thing about it?
Istanbul (Turkey).  I love the Bosphorus shores.

Favourite food?
"Sarma" which means "wrapped". It can be described in brief as grape leaves stuffed with rice and/or minced meat; with meat iy is served hot, and without meat it is served cold.

Favourite restaurant?
My favourite restaurant is Lacivert Restaurant, which is located on the Bosporus shore at the Asian side of Istanbul. "Lacivert" means "navy blue" which is one of the colours of Bosporus.

Favourite market?
I love all open markets of Turkey, where you can find rich kinds of fresh vegetables as well as clothes.  In Istanbul we have a lot of these.

Favourite travel spot?
I love all of Italy, from north to south. Positano and Amalfi Coasts are beautiful.

Dream travel destination?
I haven't visited New York yet, but I'd like to. I think everybody must see New York once - the city is awake 24 hours, like Istanbul ;)

What do you enjoy most about making your products?
Of course like most artists/crafters, I enjoy when people appreciate my products and use them willingly.

In your words, what makes your products unique?
I create them from momentary inspiration related to my mood so every moment my mood changes, my creations also changes.
