Maleny is situated in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland, approximately 100 kilometres north of Brisbane. The town is perched high above the Sunshine Coast beaches on the Blackall Range between Brisbane and Noosa and also overlooks South-East Queensland's amazing Glasshouse Mountains.

It is an area of spectacular views and it is also a craft paradise and home to many nationally recognised artists and art galleries. It is also an area of extreme interest to the eco-tourist.

We managed to hunt down a number of cute handmade products and also met some very interesting people.  One lovely artist is just starting out with her painting and making handbags using recycled leather and we are going to keep in contact with her so that we can list some of her items asap.

Kenilworth is a small town, population about 300, in the upper Mary Valley area of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. It sits in a rural area, about 50km from the coast, with dairy farming as the major industry. 

There are two wineries to visit and a cheese factory - we spent a bit of time here tasting some of the delicious locally made cheese - coriander and chilli was our fave, very, very yummy.  We bought some locally made passionfruit yoghurt and mustard, iand of course lots of cheese, all in all a very satisfying stop. 

 We also managed to stumble across a little craft co-op where we sourced some local crafters.
